Judging from the mailing list archive this seems to be a pretty popular question, but I thought I could as well ask for an update :)
From what I gather from the mailing list and the cvs repository (under /proposals/imap2), the protocol stack itself seems to be pretty complete, but it lacks a persistent store... is that accurate?
If so, how "solid" is the protocol stack? Is there any document(s) describing its current state/usability?
I'm mostly interested in the protocol stack as I would like to add an IMAP interface to an application of mine [1]. The application has already its own peculiar data store. Also my plans for IMAP are a little unorthodox as the folders are created dynamically: something along the line of a self organizing server.
In any case, any pointers, comments or updates on the state of James's IMAP server would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
PA.
