Are you sure about that? Perhaps I am mistaken but I remember Outlook Express in particular performing its searches locally only--I sniffed the packets and no SEARCH commands ever went through. Same with Outlook.
Never tested Netscape/Mozilla myself but I thought I remembered people saying that in comp.mail.imap. Sorry if I'm mistaken. > What are you talking about?
