Would it be possible to make the telnet interface configurable to use
either the existing simple repository or an "extended" LDAP manager?
Perhaps by making the administration service choose an interaction
component based upon configuration or inspection of the repository
implementation. This might require re-working the admin components, but it
might be more generally beneficial if it gives us the ability to add
(assemble?) administration modules for extended and completely new
services.

That way your "rich" users repository could also have "rich" admin
functionality, but the "light" repository and its manager would not have to
be abandoned.

Discus your proposals here, particularly the impact you expect them to have
on other areas of James.
If no-one raises any objections do some work and post some code or patches
here.

Your written English is at least as good as many native English speakers.
;-)
I'm happy, and I'm quite sure others are too, to make the effort to help
and welcome non native English speakers to James, if you have trouble
understanding anyone, please ask us to be more clear.
