or is putting stunnel behind 995 and using tomcat without SSL on port 110 the better
alternative anyway?

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: JAMES-324
Summary: pop3 server hanging upon ssl connections
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Major
Project: James
Versions:
2.1.3
Assignee:
Reporter: Ralf Hauser
Created: Wed, 6 Oct 2004 12:55 PM
Updated: Wed, 6 Oct 2004 8:57 PM
Environment: redhat 9, java 1.4.2_04-b05
Description:
My James is only used for port 995 (POP3 with SSL). Today, it all of a sudden was
still able to do a full thread dump, but it would hang when a MUA tried to establish a
connection.
Has anybody experienced the same (it was not the first time for me).
I did add a custom login/password check and also I retrieve the message in a
non-standard way from my jdbc, but I didn't touch SSL.
I'll attach the thread dump next - any hints on how to avoid this going forward would
be highly appreciated!
Ralf
