I'm not familiar with the code base but there should be a shutdown handler registered which should take care of a proper shutdown.

Yes, I've noticed that, too.


After some more runs I found that Control-C is problematic if there are remaining unprocessed mails in the spool. If not, and there was no incoming/outgoing mail processing by any client, the server process could be interrupted normally.

It looks to me as if terminating the Server process while having open DB connections is causing hickups.
