runs fine now.
I made the observation that arbitrary tests seem to fail on random, but
rare occasions.
when I simply re-run them, they pass.
have others seen that, too?
maybe this is due to the random assignment of unpriviledged ports but
I'm not totally sure.
if we would assign ports incrementally from the given range maybe we can
reproduce such problems. should we try that?
