I have rerun the jcr tests, and have got no error on my win7-64bits, jdk
1.6.0_21, mvn 3.0-beta1.
Maybe you could open a jira with your surefire-reports files to see what
the exception is.

I tried "mvn package" on the source package but I get 23 unit tests
failures.... I'm on windows 7 32bit, java 6 1.6.0_18, maven 2.2.1. Not
sure if this indicates some real issue in the code or just some test
portability problem.
The failures are from these classes:
org.apache.james.mailbox.jcr.SecurityTest
org.apache.james.mailbox.jcr.NonAuthenticatedStateTest
org.apache.james.mailbox.jcr.AuthenticatedStateTest
I think some failing test is not enough a reason to stop a milestone, so:
