Hi,
I personally don't use findbugs nor other simlar tool, but should
definitively do it.
To ease stuff (developers are lazy), it should even be in the (maven)
build, or at least be generated on demand
(http://mojo.codehaus.org/findbugs-maven-plugin/)
I already used cobertura code coverage tools (not for james).
Tks,

Dear developers,
I am a PhD student at UFMG, Brazil and as part of my research I am
making a study about the relevance of the warnings reported by the
FindBugs bug finding tool.
Since I am planning to use James as a subject system in my research,
I would like to know if James's developers usually run FindBugs as
part of the system development process.
Some times I ran FindBugs. In past I ran it also against james
codebase, but I never really used it as part of my development cycle
(just one-time run expecially when I get in touch with code I don't
know).
