Step to reproduce:
1. Configure Outlook 2003 to use default timeout for an account (1 min)
2. Try to perform some long running task (eg copying 5,1k emails)
Expected result:
emails are copied
Current result:
outlook reports timeout and never completes operation
Info: in the past we were sending keep alive info "ok hang in there", right now
it's not sent (at least not within a minute).
Current trunk code
(protocols/protocols-imap4/src/main/java/org/apache/james/imapserver/netty/IMAPServer.java):
pipeline.addLast("idleHandler", new IdleStateHandler(timer, 0,
0, timeout, TIMEOUT_UNIT));
Suggested fix:
pipeline.addLast("idleHandler", new IdleStateHandler(timer, 0,
15, timeout, TIMEOUT_UNIT));
or better yet, make this paremeter configurable.
