Eric,
I noticed that the issue is in fact invalid (and said it in the previous
comment), and mentioned the SSL only to follow up.
In fact I think it's purely a client issue.
By the way, after several restarts the client stopped issuing that huge
request. That also suggests a client issue.
Sorry if I introduced any confusion. Probably I should not jump to conclusions
so quickly, but at that time I had the logs from the client that convinced me
it may be a server problem.
