Hi Mark,
About the split, we try to lower the number of module rather than have more. I
understand your logic, but it would be worth to discuss this on the mailing
list.
For the patch, the best approach is to have small focused changes related to
the opened jira. With the patch you uploaded here, we fix various issues
unrelated to this JIRA.
The best will be to split your patch and upload them on separate JIRAs.
I hope you can do this. Sorry to ask you more work.
