Jean Helou commented on JDKIM-50:
---------------------------------
Hello,
yes this is something I had identified. However : note that RFC 8463 is a
proposed standard and may still change. As far as I could tell it is not widely
deployed either. So having it in jdkim would be nice but it is not mandatory.
With that said I had a first spike to add it the existing JDKIM library and
while it is possible this highlighted how bad the current design of the library
is at the moment. I have embarked in a slow and quite mad endeavour of
completely rewriting the library.
I'm about 70% done but I have not been able to work on it much since march (
where I joined the local town council which is eating up quite a bit of my free
time) the jdkim work is nearing the top of my leisure time pile so I hope to be
able to resume work but I don't want to make promises
I considered publishing a draft of my work but I'm to ashamed too do so ( it
doesn't even compile at the moment :D )
> Support for RFC 8463

> RFC 8463 mandates that verifiers must support verification of Ed25519 DKIM
> signatures. Additionally, it would be nice if James would also support
> creating Ed25519 DKIM signatures.
>
> If I understand the source code correctly, James currently only supports RSA
> for both.
