Can you tell me how many network cards are in this machine? Sounds like
you only have one card installed and you want to connect it to an access
point. If that is the case the XS wants to have it named eth1, what you
need to do is:

1) stop the the network
service network stop

2) run a utility that switches the names around.
xs-swapnics

3) reboot the machine
reboot

The names will be reversed, but the network card becomes part of
lanbond0
