Perhaps it would make sense to at least add an enhancement request for James mailets to use James DNS service for lookups?
We don't have control over every use of InetAddress.getByName(). Even if we change our Mailets, that doesn't change other uses. Rather than change code, changing the startup script and enhancing our DNS service code to support the JDK (as per http://www.buzzsurf.com/java/dns/) would do the job better.
Sounds like a better approach, but then do we require JDK 1.4? With JDK 1.5 on the horizon, maybe it's not such a bad idea.
