The dbfile repository will look both in the db and on disk for the body of the message, so if it doesn't find it in one place, it will look for it in the other?
It effectively creates a sequential input stream with what's in the DB and what's in a file. If you have a message that is split, it can read that fine. If the message is all in the DB and nothing in the file, well then it will read that fine as well. :)
