Not sure if the relay-denied is the cause or the effect. My intention
was to have locally-generated messages to relay. Here is the smtp
block:

Even with this config, I get relaying-denied on all mail issued from
localhost. Is there something I could have done with the mailet chain
that would override the smtp auth/authorized addresses above?
Below is the relevant section of the spooler log. This was a clean
install tonight. All I did was go through the config file and add a few
mailets (vitual user, antivirus, and a logging mailet) and set the
specific variables for my environment. Otherwise, it's the default
config.

What is causing the bounce to go into relay-denied? Do you have James
