Hello,
How is it possible to use the current version of Apache James with LDAP for
the user accounts / access?
I've tried it like the description at
http://james.apache.org/usingLDAP_v1_2.html. But this seems to be not up to
date now.
What I changed are following tags inside the config.xml:
<config>
... ...
<users-store>
<!--
<repository name="LocalUsers"
class="org.apache.james.userrepository.UsersFileRepository">
<destination URL="file://var/mail/james/users/"/>
</repository>
-->
<repository name="LocalUsers"
class="org.apache.james.userrepository.UsersLDAPRepository">
<LDAPServer>localhost:389</LDAPServer>
<ThisServerRDN>dc=mycompany,dc=com</ThisServerRDN>
<LDAPRoot>ou=james</LDAPRoot>
<!-- can be none, simple or strong -->
<AuthenticationType>simple</AuthenticationType>
<!-- the user who authenticates -->
<Principal>cn=Manager,dc=mycompany,dc=com</Principal>
<Password>secret</Password>
<MailAddressAttribute>mail</MailAddressAttribute>
<IdentityAttribute>uid</IdentityAttribute>
<MembersAttribute>cn</MembersAttribute>
<!-- If ManageGroupAttribute is set to TRUE (as it is by
default), -->
<!-- then the RemoteManger will add/remove the full DN of
the email group to/from the user entry. -->
<!-- This facilty allows users to ask the directory what is
my mailserver and what email lists am I subscribed to? -->
<ManageGroupAttribute>TRUE</ManageGroupAttribute>
<GroupAttribute>member</GroupAttribute>
<ManagePasswordAttribute>TRUE</ManagePasswordAttribute>
<PasswordAttribute>userPassword</PasswordAttribute>
</repository>
</users-store>
... ...
<config>
What else is needed to change inside James to use LDAP? An OpenLDAP Server
is already functional.
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Eduard
