Stefano,

This sounds like a great idea. I found one commercial s/mime mailet at
http://www.vroyer.org/smimestripper/technical.html .
I contacted them last week regarding pricing but have not heard back. I have
been doing some initial research as to what it would
take to build an S/MIME mailet. There doesn't seem to be any decent open
source S/MIME libraries out there. I spoke with
Daniel Somerfield of the old ISNetworks and they are thinking about open
sourcing their S/MIME library but he could
not give me a time frame. I was thinking of using bouncy castle as a base.

I know that gateway to gateway S/MIME is becoming big in the commercial
market and was thinking of building the
S/MIME mailet to support the open groups specification for this.
http://www.opengroup.org/certification/s-mime-home.html.

Let me know if I can help out in any way rather than duplicate our efforts.

Cheers,
Jeff

Subject: Current SMIME matcher/mailets

I'm going to start the implementation of smime signature verification and
smime crypt/encrypt mailet. Does anyone already done something about?

I already know that Vincenzo already committed an smime signing mailet.
