SMTP debug session:

telnet <IP> 25

> MAIL FROM: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
< 250 2.1.0 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Sender ok
> RCPT TO: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
< 250 2.1.5 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Recipient ok
> DATA
< 354 Enter mail, end with "." on a line by itself

Then write what you want and finish your mail with a line containing only a
dot ".".

If this does not work please report what the server answer to your commands.


POP3 debug session:

telnet <IP> 110
< +OK <domain> POP3 server (JAMES POP3 Server 2.2.1-dev) ready
> USER username
< +OK
> PASS password
< +OK Welcome username
> LIST

> QUIT

Do this and report your errors.
