"550 5.7.1 .... Relaying denied" is not an error raised by James 2.1.3.
We introduced extended status codes (5.7.1) in current trunk (james 2.3.x) and a search for "Relaying denied" in the James 2.1.3 gave no results.
if this logs are from the mailet*log then the problem is the destination server is rejecting the message: you should change the configuration of the destination server, not James.

Hi Guys, Using James 2.1.3 (same problem on James 2.2.0 also in DEV) We have a new production Lotus Notes Mail Server 159.211.156.33, and for some reason all the mails that it forwards to our James Server ( 10.10.21.10) now give the following error. host 10.10.21.10[10.10.21.10] said: 550 5.7.1 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [159.211.156.33] (in reply to RCPT TO command) I think its a DNS issue on the systems side, as James was working fine before the change over. The reverse lookup is failing. However, Is there anyway i can force James to NOT give this error (or NOT to do the reverse lookup) when processing mails from this server?? I have tried <authorizedAddresses>159.211.156.*</authorizedAddresses> but it didn't help! Any advice much appreciated!
