Pretty much the subject says it all. Both servers have identical users

is backup for another), the old server is being used as a gateway and has
some messages sitting in users’ folders. How can I move those to the new
server?

it should be enough to use rsync to copy the "var" folder of the old james to the new one. If you use mysql you should make a mysqldump of the database and restore it on the new server.
