I think you are on the right track.  There is a way to forward in the
manager ("telnet localhost 4555").  I'll bet you did it in there. 

Also, the auto discover DNS should work fine for you too.

Here's the lines from my config.xml file:
      <servernames autodetect="true" autodetectIP="true">
<!-- CONFIRM? -->
         <servername>localhost</servername>
         <!-- Added the following line 2/7/07 for local configuration -->
         <servername>conchheads.net</servername>
      </servernames>

Thanks for your further suggestions.  I believe that I made a mistake by
forwarding mail w/i James, so I will take that out and try again.  I hope
the above is correct when I get my MX, mail hop to an alternate port and
dynamic ip service setup for mail.
