You need to set an environment variable before calling the run script.
Not sure what it is (look at the script) but the settings which need
to be passed to the JVM by the script (i.e. the script will eventually
call $JAVA_HOME/bin/java <your stuff here> .....)

The two "normal" ones are.. (there a dozens of less well known ones too)

-Xmx is the max available heap and -Xmx1024m is one gig
-Xms is the starting size and -Xmx512m is half a gig.

I can't tell you what to set them to, because I don;t know how much
RAM and what else is on that box, but set -Xmx to a value which is big
but won't cause the box to swap it out to disc, which is b-a-d, and
-Xms to something which is nearer to what you expect it to normally
need (I know you don't know that, trial and error will get you to the
right place)
