Hi Sebastian,
first its nice to hear that you are happy with james ;-)

Well if you want to use imap you have to use the mailbox manager. The old "mailstore" is not compatible with imap. So you need to use some tricks to get the "old" emails in the new mailboxes. I think you can use the FromRepository mailet to "reinject" the messages. But im not really up to date with the imap development caused of the lack of time :-(
So maybe robert is the right one to answer your questions.

bye
Norman

Hi out there.

I'm using James more than a year now and I'm VERY happy with that. But now my dear customers want IMAP and this ASAP. So I looked into the "unstable" James 3.0 branch and tried to run it. Since I use PostgreSQL for storing mails and user data I've to complete the XML files for James 3.0 (found only Derby and MySQL statements), but I found some mails in the archive about that. But they talked about some problems using sequnces and this Torque library...
I hope I get this working :)

But is it possible to get all mail-data and user data working on James 3.0? This new MailBoxManager seems to create a lot of new tables with it's own mailstore (message blobs in it). It's bit confusing because the old traditional way with that inbox table where all mail data is stored still exists in the config files. What will be used now? The new mail box manager or the old "plain" inbox table?

Thanks for reading this and I hope I'll get some answers.

Greetings,
Sebastian Steinhauer
