Hello all, I was just following the install procedures listed here ( http://wiki.apache.org/james/JamesQuickstart ), and it seems a little thin on details. One of the problems that I encountered was that the 'bin/run.sh' script is not runnable as it is, and it also depends on 'bin/phoenix.sh' to be runnable. This is not mentioned in the install, I guess it is assumed that people installing have a hefty knowledge of Unix...
Also, there is no mention that JAVA_HOME needs to be set. While I tested this on a Mac last year, I know what the value of JAVA_HOME should be for that, but what should it be for Ubuntu? Thanks, Mike McGonagle
