I took your suggestion about the port 25 being closed and moved the smtp
port from 25 to 1555 and now I am able to access it local and remotely by
name and ip address. I'm still curious why I could connect through unix and
not windows for port 25 but I guess I can talk to our network guys for that.

It my companies intranet and I do not have control over it. I've tried
installing on a second windows machine and now I cannot telnet into port 25
at all. Even using local host.
