problem sendmail in James-2.3.1

Sir,

           I have downloaded latest version James-2.3.1 , and configure the
domain and nameserver in config.xml

while sendmail through telnet localhost 25 , error throws , steps followed

telnet localhost 25
ehlo mydomain.com
mailfrom:u...@mydomin.com <mailfrom%3au...@mydomin.com>
*500 5.5.1 Command MAILFROM:u...@mydomain.com
<mailfrom%3au...@mydomain.com>unrecognized

i have searched internet regarding 500 error , they say "syntax error "

please let me out from the problem ....
