Hi Shammi,
Maybe you can read/test all steps of "IV. Configuring James " on
http://james.apache.org/server/2.3.1/index.html.
(if you want real mail traffic, you need to configure your domain MX record)
Tks,
Eric

Hi Shammi,
With your local test setup, you should be able to send mails to the
internet (at least if your ISP allows it, otherwise you will have to
define your ISP SMTP gateway in the conf).
However, to receive mails from gmail on the Internet, you need to work
with a real domain and define the MX record of that domain to a "name"
that will be resolved to your router IP address. Your router has also to
forward smtp protocol to your james server.
Tks,
Eric

Thanks for the reply
I put "192.168.1.7 server01.com" in my host file and send email.
It was successfully delivered.
But now when I am sending mail from internet(i.e. my gmail account) to my
local user, It is not receivng it.
Any idea where the incoming mails are stores( I have checked the inboxes).
and why it is not received?
Thanks

Hi,
For testing, I had "127.0.0.1 localhost.com" in my hostfile (/etc/hosts).

Hi
I am using James-server 2.3.2 with Linux/Sebian machine.
I am following the http://wiki.apache.org/james/JamesQuickstart for
starting the James.
My routers IP is 61.246.140.218
and my machine IP is 192.168.1.7 (/sbin/ifconfig)
I am trying to send mails to Internet via James. But It's not sent.
before going next I want to know that in "mail to:<[email protected]>"
what should I put in place of localmail.com
currently I am replacing it with the output of "uname -n" command in my
machine.
Thanks.
