If it still doesn't work, you may wonder if the user's or the root
.bashrc is read when invoking sudo...
I don't have a 2.3.2 james dist atm, maybe try to find a place in the
james shell script to set there JAVA_HOME

Thanks for the reply. I have already use the sudo command:
sudo ./run.sh
event though JAVA_HOME already setup in .bashrc, i got this result:
iwan@iwan-lucid:~/dev/james-2.3.2/bin$ sudo ./run.sh
ERROR: JAVA_HOME not found in your environment.
Please, set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the
location of the Java Virtual Machine you want to use.
