thufir@localhost will work with James (add localhost as domain, although
it is defined as 'default' domain).
I use [email protected] in my dev env to be more-like "domain.tld" (with
localhost.net added in my host file, no need to use no-ip.com)
If your domain name is resolved, it will work fine for local delivered mail.
I'm not sure user@localhost is RFC conform?
Any RFC guru out-there to confirm??
Thx, Eric

Is it "ok" to use the FQDN of dur.bounceme.net:

9999 adddomain dur.bounceme.net

thufir@dur:~/apache-james-3.0-beta4/bin$
which is registered through https://www.no-ip.com/ for free. So long as
I'm just sending mail from myself to myself it's fine to use that? I'm
not sending mail to the internet.
However, I would actually rather not use a .tld at all. Can I just
register: thufir@localhost? Or, will that cause some problems, as
there's no actual .tld?
thanks,
Thufir
