Hi Mark, Outgoign SMTP delivery is governed by the RemoteDelivery mailet configured in your mailetcontainer.xml file.
Note that you can pass some additional javax.mail properties [1]. You will be especially be interested in mail.smtp.ssl.enable [1] https://javaee.github.io/javamail/docs/api/com/sun/mail/smtp/package-summary.html I believe we are quite short in documenting this as this is a recuring user question.
