Steve, (sorry if you received this twice - new membership problem!)

This is the end of the scale that interests me most (having less to offer in the deep technical arguments at the other end...)

I'm reading through the pages you pointed to, so will comment as appropriate. In the meantime I blogged about the SOA/BPM relationship  as it relates to a real finserv business process. I think this shows some opinions that say SOA should be driven by the business problem, not some random IT tech-trip. (Health-Warning: its targeted at the less technical audience. Take everything written with a pinch of salt)

If this is the rough direction you were intending for this thread I'll be happy to continue the discussion. Otherwise I'll get out of the way!
