Webster defines PARADIGM as 1: example, pattern; especially : an outstandingly clear or typical example or archetype 2: an example of a conjugation or declension showing a word in all its inflectional forms 3: a philosophical and theoretical framework of a scientific school or discipline within which theories, laws, and generalizations and the experiments performed in support of them are formulated; broadly : a philosophical or theoretical framework of any kind SO architectural style is included into SOA paradigm. SOA is not only about technical architecture, it is about concept of thinking, it is a way of behavior - pattern, and philosophical and theoretical framework; it is an architecture of business, a concept of building, not only the building style.
Yes, it has come out from IT. IT deserves an accolade for this! You can easier understand this when raise you head above IT level. - Michael ----- Original Message ---- From: "Karandikar,Amit" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: service-orientated-architecture@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 7:18:22 PM Subject: RE: [service-orientated-architecture] Definition of SOA I agree Eric. So can anyone tell me why "architecture style" was not included in the OASIS definition in the first place? We all agree on that, yet the standards document does not state this explicitly. Its hard to tell people that its an architectural style and also have them read the OASIS RM - its essentially conflicting information. - Amit If you are not the intended recipient of this message (including attachments) , or if you have received this message in error, immediately notify us and delete it and any attachments. It refers to SOA as a "paradigm" which it is not. SO may be a paradigm, but SOA is an approach, or a style of design.
