Log:
* small reorganization in file "configure.ac"
* added targets to create and apply patches to "Makefile.am" -- these targets
somehow disappeared when revision 3291 was checked in
* reorganized and commented file "Makefile.am"
* reorganized and drastically simplified file "src/Makefile.am" and added some
comments (preceded by "[NL]") which might help further simplification
* removed file "INSTALL" from repository as is is created by the Autotools
* removed creation of script "env.sh": it is not used as the path of Petrify is
written into file "src/fiona.h"
