The only value I can think of would be if you were to modify the archetypes, you could use Eclipse's Java editor and code assist functionality. It would be convenient for someone who's using Eclipse for developing on the ServiceMix project to use Eclipse for developing archetype code as well.

Another thing: Would it be possible to allow signing up to Confluence again, so more people (including myself in this case) could contribute to the documentation?
