You know I have noticed that this happens with the zips built by maven 2 as well. What's the solution around using zips? Should we at all times use gzip instead of unzip?

I hazard a guess that because you're on Solaris, you probably used Sun tar to untar the archive which has bugs that cause some entries in tarballs to be truncated upon expansion. I'm betting that there's much more than just the HelloWorldComponent that got truncated. AFAIK, the solution to this problem is to use GNU tar instead of Sun tar. GNU tar for Solaris can be downloaded from either http://blastwave.org/ or http://sunfreeware.com/: http://www.blastwave.org/packages.php/gtar http://sunfreeware.com/programlistsparc10.html#tar Bruce -- perl -e 'print unpack("u30","D0G)[EMAIL PROTECTED]&5R\"F)R=6-E+G-N>61E<D\!G;6%I;\"YC;VT*" );' Apache Geronimo - http://geronimo.apache.org/ Apache ActiveMQ - http://activemq.org/ Apache ServiceMix - http://servicemix.org/ Castor - http://castor.org/
