The Google search on the ServiceMix website is a big help in finding
info. The docs on the website aren't great and certainly need to be
improved, but there is a lot of info there. You just have to dig.

The auditing is used to persist all message exchanges into a
persistent store which by default uses Apache Derby. But the auditing
is disabled by default, hence the autoStart="false" attribute in
conf/servciemix.xml. Although the message exchange persistence
capability exists, it's not used by any tools yet for actual auditing.
It's kinda preparing to provide this in the future.
