I believe we actually are talking about the same thing -- on rereading
my post I realized it's ambiguous. I'm not proposing one huge map object
for everything. I'd like to see different objects for parameters,
cookies, just  like now, but to have all the different mapping objects
conform to a single interface. I think this is pretty much what you're
proposing...
