I don't know of any engine that supports the type of mapping your looking for.
You may want to look at servlet chaining to get the behavior you need,
i.e. map "*.html" to a chain that consists of the file servlet and
then your specific servlet for manipulating HTML. Unfortunately not all
engines support chaining and add-ons may not have a file servlet since they
typically rely on the web server to serve files directly.
