Yes it is currently being digested.

Yes, if we go down some of these paths, terrible knots could be in the
works. Fortunatly, that is why we have the process that we have -- and
we have people committed to simplicity.

I don't think that we are going to open that door...

Please do... :)

Let me describe how the spec process works (yes, I have been making
comments in an open forum, but this is not the forum for specification
evolution...)

Submit feedback directly to us..

We are digesting everything we see -- and all of these issues are on the
radar as they've been brought up many times in other forms on this and
other forums.

We will come up with a rough spec proposal and discuss it with an
"expert group" of servlet implementors and users that we have in place.
I would love to include everyone at this point, but the reality is that
we are better of at this level keeping to a group of 25-30. (really, it
is that large).

After going round and round at that level and ironing out 95% of the
kinks (because the folks in the expert group are harsh and they use
their Ockham's razors ruthlessly), then we'll go for public review.
That's where we take comment from everyone and make sure that we didn't
screw up.

Only after we successfully navigate all of this do we have a final spec.

So, please -- submit your feedback to
