Is it just me or is it true that I'm going to have to spend a fairly large
amount of money to get my Java Servlets to talk to MS SQL Server.

I know about the ODBC bridge but these are production systems so I can't go
that route.

Is there anything that will allow me to run simple Selects, Inserts,
Updates, and Deletes again my SQL Server data via JDBC that's free or
inexpensive?

I see this as a major drawback to JDBC if I can't talk to select databases.
 Any advice?

James
