The problem is not the operative system the problem is the web server. The
more portable solution ist servlete because you can use it with diferent
web server and of course different operativo system.
The solution depends on the web server that you have decided to use if you
are using Internet Information Server then you have no another solution
(ASP or Servlet) if you decide to use another web server then you have to
show the documentation of this web server for example with netscape you can
use:
cgi
Server Side Javascript
Servlet
WAI ,...
Server side javascript is non-dependant of operative system but it is of
dependant of web server..
