Is this possible?  I've read about using HTTP Tunnelling, although a URL
object doesn't like "https" as the protocol.  Would I be able to use Socket
posts instead or URL Connections?

This is a critical issue at this point.  I would like to use the
functionality of an Applet and the backend power of a Servlet, although, it
look like the SSL server is preventing be from doing so.

My other option, from what I understand, is to create JSP's or .jthtml pages
to get the DB data.
