We rejected their proposal for official inclusion into the servlet spec
at this time. Right now our puny small servlet team is focused on all of
the challenges that we still have to take care of in the present spec
and so we aren't taking on any more work. They are welcome to work their
proposal under their own spec and namesake. In fact, just because some
work isn't being taken on by Javasoft doesn't mean that it's not
valuable or important to do!
