I'm not really sure what you mean by "thin driver". For now assume that
a thin driver is one that you can connect an applet or other "thin
client" to a remote database with. I believe this is supported by a
number of middle-ware type solutions, where the client driver talks a
standard JDBC to the remote middleware server, which in turn accessed
the database. For example, Symantec's DBAnywhere server does this, and I
think Borland has a similar product. Weblogic (now BEA) also has several
JDBC drivers which support SQLServer, and one of them may meet your
needs.

We use the Weblogic Type 4 MS-SQLServer driver and it works great, but
it's expensive.
