Hello all,
I have a question about the relative worth of the different servlet engines
that run as an addition to Netscape's web server. If this is an old topic
covered before, I'd be happy to get a pointer to the right place in the
archives.
In development, we use JavaWebServer with JSDK 2.0 and like it fine. But
for production use on the company server, we have to use Netscape
Enterprise Server 3.6, running on Solaris. I have the impression that
N.E.S does not support JSDK 2.0 and N.E.S support for servlets is buggy.
Is that true?
Several servlet engines run as plug-ins to Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6.
Which plug-in servlet engine do you recommend?
Why?
What are the trade-offs between reliability, scalability, speed,
and ease of use? Ease of use for operations and maintainability
is important to us here.
I've heard most about WebSphere and JRun.
Are they the top contenders?
This is our first venture into company-wide use of servlets.
With hindsight, would you have done things a different way
when you started using servlets in production?
Thanks in advance,
