Announcing: Open Financial Exchange Toolkit for Java (JOFX)
JOFX components implement the complete Open Financial Exchange(OFX)
protocol for the development and deployment of a wide range of online financial
services. These include bill presentment, bill payment, banking, and investment
information applications, based on a multi-tiered, distributed object
architecture. JOFX toolkit consists of Client EJBs for financial Portal
developers, and Server EJBs and Servlets for Billers, Bankers, and Brokers. The
JOFX components are pre-developed pieces of application code that can be quickly
assembled into working application systems by integrating them with legacy
applications. The JOFX toolkit implements the latest OFX 1.51
specification.
JOFX Toolkit supports OFX as well as XML. OFX is used as Message-Oriented
Middleware (MOM) between financial institutions and their customers, and also
for communication between financial institutions themselves. XML is used by the
application developer for Presentation-Oriented Publishing (POP) in the browsers
with a different stylesheet for each portal.
JOFX EJBs and Servlets are currently being tested with all major
application servers, including Oracle 8i, IBM's WebSphere Application Server,
BEA WebLogic Application Server, and Sun's NetDynamics 5 Application Server, and
others.
The documentation including the JavaDocs are available right now, the JOFX
EJBs and Servlets Beta 1 will be available within two weeks.
