Admittedly this is off topic, but I'm sure that I've seen similar
topics discussed here so I'm hoping you folks can help me out.

Currently we are using Oracle's thin JDBC drivers in our
servlets. We now have customers who are requesting that
we support SQLServer. What I'm looking for is the most
cost-effective way of obtaining JDBC drivers for SQLServer.
To avoid some painful code rewriting, it would be nice if they
supported JDK2.0 but that isn't completely necessary. We
can also live with reduced support for the JDBC API provided
that the specifics are well documented.

So, has anyone found drivers that they are really happy with?
Really unhappy with? Suggestions, recommendations, and
advice of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
John

p.s. Based on Jason Hunter's secton on JDBC drivers, I suspect
that we need Type 3 drivers but I'm not entirely certain. Our
servlets are connecting to databases accross the internet but
are not tunneling through firewalls (at least not yet).
