Hi all,

I've gone through the archive and and seen a few messages talking about
login systems.

I've done all that, and still seem to have a problem I haven't seen
mentioned in the archive (it might be there, it was a big list and my
search criteria didn't turn up anything).

My system checks to see if a requester of the servlet services is
currently a logged in user for any of the pages. If not
sendRedirect(login);. After loggin in, and a successful user
name/password pair, they are redirected to the servlet that sent them to
the log in servlet.

This all works great most of the time. The problems occur when there is
a proxy involved. If there is, the sending redirection back to the
originally requested page ends up redirecting the browser yet again back
to the login page after a successful login! 8( Basically, the proxy says
here is the page that you got last time which is the redirection back to
the login screen. I've tried all sorts of things in the setHeaders for
the original redirection without any luck.

Has anyone else encountered this and if so, how have you overcome it?

Regards,
Doug
