Hello all,

Environment-JavaWebServer 1.1.x
OS - Windows NT

We have one Search Servlet which will display a page, let us say Search
Result Page, with a list of items based on the search. If the user wants can
then view the detailed information of each row on the search result list by
going to the Individual Item Page. The user decides to go to the Individual
Item Page and now wants to get back to Search Result Page.

I had a solution like this:
I associated the onclick event on the Back button history.back(). So
whenever the user clicks the back button he will be taken to the previous
page which is going to be the Search Result Page. But the problem starts
when the Cache is disabled on the browser.

When i use the back button to go to the Search Result Page, presumably since
there is no cache set in the browser, i get a "Data Missing - This doc.
resulted from a POST operation and has expired from the cache. If you wish
you can repost the form data to recreate document by pressing the reload
button"; if i hit the reload button i get a Repost form data dialog and when
i say yes it recreates the Search Result Page document. How can i simulate
this event on my Individual Item Page or is it browsers internal behaviour.

May i know what fundamental understanding i miss regarding this problem.
Also is there any other solution for this problem.

thanx for any help
Thirumurugan
